I first encountered the music of Big Wreck in 2022 when putting together MusicQuest Explorer Mix #25, which is a lengthy mainstream and subgenre tour of Rock-N-Roll from around the world from the 1960’s through today. I really got into “That Song," “Look What I Found,” and “How Would You Know” from the band’s “In Loving Memory Of – 20th Anniversary Special Edition” release from 2018 that was originally issued in 1997. Since then, I have thoroughly explored their discography and have decided that they have created some of my favorite rock songs of all time. In fact, I would say that Big Wreck is currently, right now, one of the best rock bands on the planet because much of their music is, well, just really excellent, and the band does not rest on its previous material. Thirty-one years into their career, Big Wreck continues to be highly creative, generating an enormous amount of new, interesting, and vibrant rock. My wife and I plan on finding a way to see Big Wreck (based in Canada), which means we will likely need to fly far away from West Central Texas where we live, but I think that will definitely happen at some point.
